Cellular Wifi Calling!

CELLULAR COVERAGE WHILE TRAVELING CAN DEFINITELY BE A ISSUE. WI-FI CALLING CAN BE A LIFESAVER IF YOU ONLY HAVE ACCESS TO WI-FI. IF COMING FROM OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY THIS MAY NEED TO BE SET UP BEFORE YOU LEAVE YOUR COUNTRY FIRST. ITS FREE AND EASY TO SET UP.
Wi-Fi calling is a lifesaver when you're in a "dead zone" but have a solid internet connection. It allows you to make calls and send texts over Wi-Fi rather than relying on a weak cellular signal.
The setup is slightly different depending on your device, but here is the quick breakdown:
For iPhone (iOS)
* Open Settings.
* Scroll down and tap Apps (or Phone on older iOS versions).
* Select Wi-Fi Calling.
* Toggle the Wi-Fi Calling on This iPhone switch to ON.
* Confirm the prompt. You may be asked to enter or confirm your emergency address (E911) for first responders.
For Android
Note: Menus can vary slightly by manufacturer (Samsung vs. Pixel).
* Open the Phone app (the one you use to dial numbers).
* Tap the three-dot menu (More) in the top right corner.
* Select Settings.
* Tap Calls or Wi-Fi Calling.
* Toggle the switch to On.
* (Optional) You can usually set "Calling Preference" to either "Call over Wi-Fi" or "Call over mobile network."
Important Things to Note
* Carrier Support: Most major carriers support this, but if you don't see the option in your settings, your specific plan or carrier might not allow it.
* Emergency Services: Because Wi-Fi signals aren't tied to a physical tower, your phone needs an Emergency Address saved so 911 knows where you are if you call while on Wi-Fi.
* Indicator: Once active, you’ll usually see "Wi-Fi" or a small Wi-Fi icon next to your carrier name in the status bar (e.g., "Verizon Wi-Fi").
